Since I have such an obsession with order and putting things in 'boxes' I've grouped the items - This post includes the items that help plant-based crusaders get fresh & clean!

Here's a bit of a confession - Beauty products have been the area of plant-based transition that I have struggled with the most. Just before switching my diet - and therefore cutting out dairy - I was suffering from adult acne with a severity I can't even describe! I had tried so many different products to no avail and was days away from going to my doctor to go on medication. My diet switch occurred because of other health issues but a flow-on effect was the almost instant disappearance of the deep, painful lumps under my skin that made it hard to lay my head on a pillow at night!

Since then I have noticed that anytime I have dairy - usually at the hands of a confused (or uncaring) chef - I will experience a break-out of the same deep, painful acne within days. Knowing my history it might be easier for you to understand why I have been so hesitant to make any sweeping changes to my facial products, including switching from mainstream brands to something more natural and plant-based but it's definitely been something I've been making baby steps towards!
When I saw the Delicious Skin - Deliciously Smooth Exfoliating Mask in September's Vegan Box I was excited and eager to try it out!

Actually, that's a lie - I was so impressed by the packaging I hesitated in using it because I didn't want to sully it but I put that aside and got my mask on!

The mask comes in a powder form - the website tells me that by doing it this way (not adding water at the manufacture stage) means that the products are more naturally resistant to bacteria growth thereby extending the shelf life! You can mix the mask powder with water or get fancy with soy milk or mashed avocado. I would recommend starting out on the minimal side with the liquid you choose and add extra gradually until you reach a good consistency. I got a bit over eager and ended up with a mask that's a bit runnier than I am used to.
One of the best things about the Delicious Skin mask is that it's ingredients (Bentonite Clay, Organic Oats, Organic Almonds, Vanilla Powder) mean you don't need to be as precious about avoiding your orifices! You should still avoid getting too close to your eyeballs but I got it all over my lips with no ill-effect!
I always feel pretty good after a nice face mask and this Delicious Skin option was no different! My skin felt lovely and smooth afterwards and even looked pretty nice (for my scarred and withered post-acne skin anyway!)

I had no reactions, no tightness (which I often get with chemical laden options) and no extra redness... Sadly, it didn't rid me of my terrible dark circles but I think the only cure for that is more sleep!
Added Bonus : Delicious Skin makes a concerted effort to use reusable glass packaging in order to avoid harmful chemicals leeching from plastic options and the increase their eco-friendliness so now that my mask powder is all gone I still have the handy little glass jar and the cute little calico bag to re-use! *Love*

After an evening of pampering and relaxation with my face mask I woke up the next morning faced with my *favourite* task - housework! For the last few weeks I had managed to put off the much needed job of mopping the floors. Serendipity at work perhaps? When I saw the bottle of Resparkle Floor Cleaner in the September Vegan Box I certainly thought so.

Am I the only one that sniffs everything before using it, including cleaning products? I'm all about the scent - preferring citrus scents to pines and florals. Given this sniffy habit it's probably a good idea that I use more natural cleaning products - goodness knows the damage I've done over the years inhaling whiffs of chemical-laden concoctions before scrubbing toilets, cleaning mirrors and squeegeeing windows! So, of course the first thing I did when I opened my little vial of Resparkle Floor Cleaner was stick my nose in it! I was rewarded with the refreshing scent of lemon and mint - a big tick for scent!
Once I finally located my mop bucket (I swear buckets disappear around here like socks in the laundry!!) I mixed up my concoction and was happy to note that even once diluted into half a bucket of water the lovely scent remained. Then it was down to the hard task of mopping my long-neglected floors!
My main concern when using natural cleaning products is that they aren't going to be as tough on grime as the scary, chemical-laden options. And I think, to a degree, that this was the case with the Resparkle Floor Cleaner but this highlights a fault of mine more-so than the product. I admit to skipping mopping duties (our house is 99% hardwood/tile floors) and, as such, my floors needed some extra elbow grease while using this natural product than I may have needed with a chemical option. If I can get my booty into gear and mop more regularly I know that the Resparkle would be more than sufficient to get the job done well. A switch to natural products means enough to me to make this tedious chore more of a priority!
A look at the Resparkle website shows all the other squeaky-clean and natural options they have in their range. I love the re-fill concept - I appreciate anything with a focus on reducing waste!
What really struck me was the price - all of the Resparkle products were much more cost-effective than I had expected and the postage fees much lower than other similar companies! I am looking forward to ordering some of their other choices - especially the Bathroom & Glass Cleaner (500ml Bottle - $6.95). There's also a Home Care Sample Pack at the crazy price of $1.90 (inc. A choice of any 2 of the Organic Kitchen & Multi-Surface Cleaner, Organic Bathroom & Glass Cleaner or Organic Nursery, Toy & Everyday Cleaner in sample sizes) that would be perfect to trial the range without going all in!
I don't think the Resparkle products will magically make me enjoy my housework but they will make me feel much more comfortable about my impact on my health and the environment!
